Quality versus quantity: the Rockefeller Foundation and nurses' training in China
Article Abstract:
The introduction of high-quality medical services and nursing training in China by the Rockefeller Foundation is in conflict with the country's inability to resolve its health care problem. The Foundation planned to solve the paucity of trained nurses by introducing the Peking Union Medical College project, and expected it to initiate the opening of similar projects in China. However, the expensive nature of the project made it quantitatively impossible. Plans to lower the standards were opposed by the nursing graduates. The foundation has oriented its interest toward rural health care program.

Last gasp for fair air: what still remains of TV regulation could end the political money chase
Article Abstract:
There is disagreement within the television broadcasting industry over political advertising on television. `60 Minutes' producer Don Hewitt endorses the end of these TV ads in exchange for news coverage of campaigns. Most TV broadcasters reject this proposal or any attempt to restore the fairness doctrine. They, also, want to end the political editorial and personal attack rules that require fair hearings for candidates not endorsed by stations or whose integrity is attacked on non-news shows.
