Article Abstract:
A compromise is presented between two conflicting interpretations of the usefulness of nature, a strict economic-based interpretation and a purely aesthetic interpretation. It is argued that while nature yields goods, these goods should be viewed in the same manner as works of art or heirlooms, as opposed to an unemotional view of them as merely products for sale.
