In the event of the September 11, 2001 attack as well as growing internal problems, the chances of an Islamic fundamentalist regime taking over the Saudi monarchy have become manifold. America's reaction to such an eventuality, its foreign policy options and some strategies expected to be undertaken by it to restrain the threat posed by such a change are discussed here.

The lessons found in Sun Tzu's 'The Art of War' with the training and methods of the global Islamist network, al Qaeda, are compared. Studying 'The Art of War', one can gain a clearer insight into the shadowed world of Islamist terrorism, and also acquires important insights necessary for the US to win the global war on terror.
