Confessions of a consumer reporter
Article Abstract:
Consumer reporting has flourished on commercial television despite the influence of advertisers. Though commercial television is mainly funded by advertisers, some stations support consumer reporters even in the face of lawsuits or withdrawing sponsors. Recent reports on a wave of television consumer reporting censorship are newsworthy only because such attempts at suppression are unusual.
