Do pharmacists have a right to refuse to fill prescriptions for abortifacient drugs?
Article Abstract:
The answer to whether a pharmacist has a right to refuse to fill a prescription for an abortifacient will vary depending on how the tripartite relationship between physician, pharmacist and patient is modeled. The libertarian model makes the pharmacist and patient parties to a contract. According to the guild model, the pharmacist may refuse only if the profession provides for conscientious objection. The pharmaceutical technician model makes the pharmacist morally subordinate to the physician. The societal model permits refusals authorized by society.

Antiprogestin drugs: ethical issues
Article Abstract:
An ethical analysis of RU 486 usage should touch on whether the drug's introduction in the US would result in more benefits than harms, increase women's independence, privacy, and access to ways of ending unwanted pregnancies. The health benefit of early termination of pregnancy seems clear, enhancing women's reproductive freedom also increases their autonomy, and the lower costs of medical as opposed to surgical termination of pregnancy are likely to result in more widespread access to abortion.

Antiprogestin drugs: research and clinical use in Sweden
Article Abstract:
Doctors in Sweden have conducted research on the use of RU 486 for abortion. The research indicated that RU 486 combined with prostaglandin analogues such as Cervagem, Sulprostone and 15-methyl PGF is an effective and safe non-invasive abortifacient which can be used as late as the second trimester. There are also several ways of using RU 486 as a contraceptive.
