Journalism itself can be used to defend foreign reporters at risk

Article Abstract:

The risks faced by the investigative reporters around the world, particularly in countries where the press is generally restricted and officials are unaccustomed to public scrutiny is highlighted in regards to Cardoso's murder. The various works performed by the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), which worked to protect the life of the journalist working at dangerous places is discussed.

For journalists, murder, not war, is leading cause of death

Article Abstract:

Journalists are being targeted by insurgents, caught in crossfire, and killed by fire from U.S. forces during the Iraq war. Records show that 36 of the 56 journalists who died in the line of duty in the year 2004 were murdered, continuing a long-term trend.

Training journalists abroad poses special challenges

Article Abstract:

The serious business in Bosnia and the most serious practitioners in Kopanja are investigated. The reporters who are trained from abroad depict that the matter of good preparation and working hard let them find what is relevant.
