Raytheon's SM-2 Block IIIB scores seven target kills
Article Abstract:
Raytheon Co's SM-2 Block IIIB missile has undergone a successful Follow-On Test and Evaluation (FOT&E) and is expected to enter the full-rate production phase in 1999. The anti-aircraft missile were tested to evaluate the capability of its new infrared seeker and to determine its effectiveness against different stressing threats. The missile is intended to be the premier medium-range air-defense missile on the Aegis guided- missile cruisers and destroyers.

Super showdown in the Mediterranean, 1973
Article Abstract:
The United States and Soviet naval forces nearly clashed in the Mediterranean Sea during the 1973 conflict between Arabs and Israelis. It is noticed that dangerous naval threats can emerge even in the regions that are dominated by the United States, other powers might exploit tensions between the US and its allies and the incentives to strike first places all forces in theater on the precipice of war.
