Article Abstract:
Three European fighter planes are expected to compete for a worldwide market estimated at $80 billion numbering some 800 fourth-generation aircraft. The fighters are the Dassault Rafale, the Eurofighter Typhoon and the Saab-BAe Gripen. The Rafale has a conventional airframe and is offered in a number of versions. The Eurofighter is an air superiority, multi-function aircraft while the Gripen boasts of low maintenance costs due to its single engine configuration.

The objective individual combat weapon
Article Abstract:
A manufacturing consortium, comprised of four major players and led by ATK, aims to develop the OICW/SABR-Land Warrior System to replace the M- 16/M4/M203 rifle carbine-grenade launcher combination weapon system. The new military weapon will be encapsulated in various items of advanced lightweight technology and will feature a 20mm capability, acceptable recoil, a laser red-dot-ranging reticule and thermal imagig electronics.
