Anzac anxiety
Article Abstract:
The dawn service to commemorate Anzac Day at Gallipoli in Turkey has become so popular for Australian and New Zealander tourists that organizers are considering moving the site to a more accessible, permanent location. Moving the site raises problems for those concerned with historical significance. The Turkish government has proposed a peace park, raising questions about the suitability of a military memorial featuring crosses in a muslim nation.
