CN hitches to U.S. railway to smooth out Chicago link
Article Abstract:
Canadian National Railway Co. (CN) signed a contract with Wisconsin Central Transportation Corp., that is slated to ease the freight ride from Winnipeg, Canada, to Chicago, IL, and the Gulf Coast. Wisconsin Central is a railway from Rosemont, IL, which operates 700 kilometers of track in Chicago, IL, and Superior, WS, a railway junction at the westernmost point of Lake Superior. The track is particularly important to CN since it allows the railway to send trains in the west side of Lake Michigan from Winnipeg, Canada, to Chicago, IL. From there, the trains link with the CN line to Montreal, Canada, and Halifax, Canada.
