Cancer patients go where hope carries price tag
Article Abstract:
Alternative cancer therapy clinics have proliferated along the Mexican side of the US border from California to eastern Texas, and in Mexican coastal communities. The clinics offer alternative treatments that do not use the traditional methods of radiation and chemotherapy. Practitioners said that the therapies, which include enemas, megadoses of vitamins and herbal drugs, do not treat the symptoms but the underlying cause of cancer.

Johnson has no regrets about using performance-enhancing drugs, for which he was banned from Olympic competition for life in 1992. Johnson, now a building contractor in Newmarket, Ontario, claims that all the Olympic runners use such drugs.
