Air Canada directors set to float merger alternative

Air Canada's directors are set to come up alternative measures to the C$1.8-billion proposal of Onex Corp to merge the company with its ailing rival Canadian Airlines International Ltd. By the third week of Sep 1999, an independent committee of Air Canada's directors will present various options, including a possible financial restructuring of the airline or a counterproposal for the merger with Canadian Airlines.

Software developer Inex Corp. of Toronto, Canada, has released a software that would allow entrepreneurs to create their own online retail sites. The company's Commerce Court Professional Suite 3.2 contains all-in-one packages that let users to design their own Web stores. The software has three features: a sample store, a guided tour, and wizards that provide instructions throughout the design process.
