Bombardier plans 90-seat jet
Article Abstract:
Bombardier Inc., based in Montreal, Quebec, introduced its plan to build BRJ-X aircraft, a 90-seat jet that is set to compete with the 100-seat aircraft being proposed by Boeing Co. and Airbus Industrie. The company would inject C$1 billion for the development of the aircraft, which would be available with 85 to 100 seats. Regional market leader Bombardier intended the proposed jet as a response to Fairchild Dornier USA's plan to build a bigger plane than its current 50- and 70-seat aircraft. BRJ-X is expected to receive demands reaching 2,500 aircraft in the next 20 years.
