Attendance at National Basketball League games has increased between 5% and 10%, and media coverage has improved since the sport switched to summertime play. Basketball no longer competes with football for viewers and sponsors. The head of the Sydney Kings says attendance in the late 1990s does not compare to the heights it reached in 1992, when 12 games in a row sold out.
