EdperBrascan's profit drops 33 per cent

Conglomerate EdperBrascan Corp of Toronto, Ontario, has posted a profit of C$415 million in 1998, down by 33% from C$620 million in 1997. The company attributed the drop to falling resource prices and a lower gain on investments. The company's 1998 profit included a gain of C$200 million from the sale of Norcen Energy Resources Ltd, while 1997 profit included a $344-million gain from the sale of a merchant banking business.

DataMirror profit, revenue jump

DataMirror Corp. posted 3.3 million Canadian dollars in profits for the fourth quarter ending January 31, 2003. The company also posted 17.8 million Canadian dollars in revenues, compared to 14.5 million Canadian dollars in the same 2002 period.
