Four essential tips for buying closeout products
Article Abstract:
Consumers can reap significant savings by purchasing computer systems and peripherals that are being discontinued. Consumers should first determine why the product is being sold at a closeout price. Reasons for closing out merchandise include the introduction of new, enhanced models; mergers and acquisitions; the closing of a manufacturer. Another important factor in considering closeout merchandise is whether or not the technology utilized by the product is proprietary to the brand. If products are made from standard components, repair is likely to be easy. Consumers should also determine who will offer repair services on the product. Potential buyers of closeout merchandise should shop around; often, closeout prices are not significantly lower than those being offered by manufacturers still planning to make their products.
