Global warning
Article Abstract:
A bleak future is ahead for Australia's exports according to the National Inst. of Economic and Industry Research, and the institute was right about how the Asian slump would affect Australia. The world as a whole likely will experience a period of very low growth, if not a depression in the technical sense. For the fiscal year 2001 likely Australia's major partners in trade will have growth of less than 1%. At least until 2002 the economy of Australia will grow at negligible rates. Over the 15 months to 9/98 Australian goods exports were flat.
