Hyal end in sight if debentures unpaid
Article Abstract:
Drug development company Hyal Pharmaceutical Corp of Mississauga, Ontario, is facing possible bankruptcy court protection or liquidation if it fails to pay C$5.2 million to its debenture holders by Apr 30, 1999. The company reported that it did not have enough money to pay the interest and principal on its 12% debentures. The company posted a loss of C$9.8 million, or 33 cents per share, on revenue of C$380,469 for the first nine months of FY98. The company attributed its financial woes to its failure to get a marketing partner for its Solarse topical gel for treating precancerous skin condition resulting from sun exposure.
