Is the role of First Lady outmoded?
Article Abstract:
Some people feel that the role of the First Lady of the US is outmoded and demeaning, while others think the First Lady should enjoy this exclusive position. One side thinks that by virtue of sharing a bed with the president a First Lady should not be entitled to influence and power. The other side criticizes Hillary Clinton for extending her role into policy making and Elizabeth Dole for saying she would keep her job as president of the American Cross if she became first lady.

The FBI under fire: how serious are the bureau's recent problems?
Article Abstract:
The Federal Bureau of Investigation has undergone recent criticism on a variety of issues, but experts disagree on how serious the problems are. For example, the FBI's crime laboratory has been charged with inaccuracy and biasing evidence to suit prosecutors. Other scandals involve turning over personal files to White House staff and failing to alert Pres Clinton to possible illegal campaign contributions from China. The FBI's history and public relations are also discussed.
