Profit is sweet, but Laura Secord for sale
Article Abstract:
Nestle SA of Switzerland is hiring New York-based Rhone Group LLC to sell its Laura Secord Inc.'s Canadian chain of chocolate and gift stores, its Toronto, Ontario-based factory as well as other related brand names. Laura Secord's president Bob Leonidas did not disclose the price but divulged the firm's annual sales at C$85 million. The divestment was reportedly a result of a concentration on its core businesses that excluded the Secord stores from its long-term goals. Laura Secord employs over 2,000 people including 500 workers at the Toronto facility. It also operates 18 locations with Hallmark Cards Inc.
