Paradise lost: a volcano ravages a Caribbean isle

A volcanic eruption on Jun 25, 1997, killed 19 people and destroyed several villages on the British colony of Montserrat. Almost a third of the island has been buried in volcanic dust, and scientists warn that a major eruption could happen at any time. Only about 4,000 people remain on the island.
