Population growth
Article Abstract:
There will be 7.6 billion people living on the Earth by 2015 if population continues to grow at its current rate. This has led to calls for population control from people worried that the planet's resources are being over-stressed. Others claim that technology will triumph over nature, and population growth is therefore not a major concern. Greater population has led to increased immigration into the US and Europe, prompting resistance to the immigrants and national immigration policies. Some say that the Western world should increase foreign aid aimed at controlling population growth in Third World nations.

Reforming the CIA: is the spy agency a dinosaur in today's world?
Article Abstract:
The CIA is undergoing a transition from the Cold War era, and is being re-evaluated in the wake of the Aldrich Ames spy scandal. A government commission has been appointed by Pres Clinton to determine the current and future needs of the intelligence community. Some legislators such as Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan believe the CIA should be dismantled; however, most think that intelligence gathering is important to the government and that better intelligence capabilities will be needed to monitor the many small groups that could threaten U.S. security.
