A satirical look at the Australian Democratic Party shows it to be overwhelmingly middle-class, dedicated to compromise and willing to accept the most irrational assumptions. Led by Prime Minister John Howard and Senator Meg Lees, who each distrusts the other, the Democrats agree only on the Goods and Services Tax.

This article examines proposals to turn Australia into a republic by replacing Queen Elizabeth with an Australian president as head of state who would be subject to dismissal by the prime minister. The article argues that no democratic republic in the world has a president who can be dismissed so easily.
