Car manufacturers are adopting a hybrid petrol-electric technology, which can deliver fuel consumption less than 6 liters per 100 km, however this would require funding the development of fuel efficiency improvement itself or turning to global engine catalogue to suit. Manufacturers such as Toyota, Mitsubishi and Ford Australia will be also have to cope up with the high fuel prices in this due course.
