The altar of doom: a Calgary archeologist escapes a jungle attack
Article Abstract:
University of Calgary archeologist Peter Mathews and other members of his team were severely beaten by local villagers when Mathews attempted to move an ancient Mayan altar to a secure location away from looters. Mathews escaped after four days of terror. The fate of the altar is unknown.

The Unabomber unmasked?

FBI agents arrested Kaczynski in Apr 1996, at his rural Montana cabin, and charged him with possessing bomb-making materials. Kaczynski's brother David Kaczynski tipped off the FBI that his brother might be the Unabomber after finding writings similar to the Unabomber's manifesto.
