An overview is presented of the activities of the residents of Tunkhannock, a town located in Pennsylvania which has a population of 4,400. Hildy Morgan spearheaded a campaign to resist the closure of the local cinema, which she considered to be the heart of the town.

How a small town started a free clinic
Article Abstract:
The Biddeford Free Clinic, open three nights per week, opened in 1993 and is staffed entirely by volunteers. Dr Francis Kleeman founded the clinic when he discovered that a significant portion of the town's citizens did not have access to affordable medical care.

Librarian McKillip founded the Libri Foundation in 1989 so that she could provide small, financially needy libraries with hardcover children's books. She believes in the importance of teaching children to read when they are young and eager to learn.
