Utility's bankruptcy filing adds to California's confusion
Article Abstract:
Pacific Gas and Electric has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, further aggravating California's worsening energy crisis. The utility's bankruptcy filing could result in more power outages in California but the problem could be remedied if Pacific Gas' $9-billion debt could be paid off. On the other hand, Southern California Edison, California's other major electric utility, said it will not file for bankruptcy protection just so it could get a breather from creditors.

Some 9/11 families choose lawsuits over federal fund
Article Abstract:
Relatives and families of many victims of the terrible tragedy of September 11 have rejected pleas made by the Justice Department asking them not to sue the already beleaguered airlines as well as their affiliates. Some relatives have also named Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden in their law suits and all the relatives maintain that it is not for the money but it is to ensure that the government speeds up investigations and also to ensure that such a tragedy is not repeated.
