Article Abstract:
The explosion at the Longford gas processing plant in Gippsland, Australia, killed two workers, injured many others, cost 100,000 Victorians their jobs, and left one million homes without gas for cooking, hot water, and showers. Although factories such as Ford, Toyota, and Southcorp will get their gas during the week of Oct 12, 1998, residents will be reconnected the week after.
