Wal-Mart sets ambitious 'green' goals

Wal-Mart, the world's largest retailer, wants to be most eco-friendly, and has set its long-term goals to use only renewable energy, to create no waste, and to sell products that sustain its resources and environment. It has also established specific short-term goals that include increasing truck fuel efficiency, cut store energy consumption, reduce solid waste at stores, reduce greenhouse-gas emissions, and increase sales of organic food and other environmentally friendly products.

Buy American? Not at Wal-Mart
Article Abstract:
Wal-Mart widely advertised its 'Buy American' theme as it wanted public relations among blue-collar American who had lost, or feared losing, their jobs die to foreign competition. Further the company abandoned its program in the late 1990's because of the realities of economic globalization.
