The federal government allocates about $200 billion annually for toxin control programs which regulate the use of toxic substances such as chemicals and radiation. The large amount allotted to toxin control programs can be attributed to the government's idealistic approach to environmental policy. This amount can be trimmed down by relaxing toxin control programs a little.
