Keep the heat on for LIHEAP
Article Abstract:
Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program was started in 1981 to assist the people from low and fixed-income groups to meet their home heating and cooling expenditures. Federal government has been steadily slashing down the funding towards LIHEAP despite the rise in low-income families and energy costs. The federal government has been periodically advised of the adverse effects of the rising energy prices on this program.
