Marketing reconnaissance
Article Abstract:
Municipal utilities and electric cooperatives in the US are adopting novel marketing strategies for their businesses, as they attempt to surpass the competence of investor-owned electric utilities. One of the most notable programs currently undertaken by industry members is Hometown Connections, which seeks to provide retail products and services that can be utilized by municipalities or resold to end-use customers. Another initiative launched is Touchstone Energy, which aims to set a standard for customer service that can be followed by electric cooperatives.
