The future of contingent work
Article Abstract:
The nature of contingent work has been changing continually since its the introduction of this concept in the 1950s. In those days, temporary workers were sought to fill in for emergencies and maternity leave. In the 1990s, contingent workers perform a wide variety of important, including managing projects and working on teams. More other significant changes are in store for temporary employment in the future. Some analysts believe that temporary employment will become a training ground for displaced workers. Those holding temporary jobs will learn new skills and temporary employment agencies will increasingly be asked to provide workers with the necessary work skills. Other emerging trends are the increasing number of professional-level temporary workers and the growing demand of contingency workers for more benefits.

The government encourages the return of the natives, and helps assist travellers with services including travel advice, reststops, washrooms and cafes. The government hopes that successful expatriates will choose to spend money in their home country.
