Terrorist groups are looking at electric utilities as possible targets for direct attacks and they are found to be studying the vulnerabilities of supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, and these systems increasingly connect with other networks their exposure to threat increases. The electric power sector is taking steps to reduce its vulnerability and protect the network.
