Markante Verbesserung des Ertrags

Article Abstract:

In 1998, the Swiss Baar-based Sika group, which is active in the sectors of special chemicals and industrial materials, is to invest more than SFr 100mn in internal growth, especially in North and South America. By 2001, the group wants to generate 50% of turnover in Europe and 50% overseas. New products are to contribute to the growth. One of them is an industrial flooring material of recycled PET, for which the group has applied for a worldwide patent. By 2002, Sika is expecting a turnover of SFr 200mn from the PET flooring which is produced in Switzerland at relatively low costs. In the first quarter of 1998, the group's turnover rose by 3.7% despite a 23.4% decline in the Asian/Pacific area. In 1997, Sika improved turnover by 19.3% to SFr 1.6bn and profits by 30.9% to SFr 77mn.
