Corporate social monitoring: a comparison of the relative values of religious activists and public affairs officers
Article Abstract:
Corporate public affairs officers are frequently required to consider the actions of religious activists. This can create an ongoing relationship within which a company is regularly challenged to respond to ethical matters and the religious activists assess the company's moral status. Research into assessments by religious activists and public affairs officers of corporate social performance issues indicates that public affairs officers focus on issues which are clearly within the corporate domain. In contrast, religious activists place more emphasis on social issues that are more external to the company.

When values collide: value conflict in American health care
Article Abstract:
Different value systems in American health care among doctors, nurses, patients and administrative authorities have created problems for the efficient management of health care institutions. Conflicts between doctors and nurses over patient care, and the pressure of administrative staff for cost containment leads to difficulties. Ethical guidelines are needed for patient care. Changes in policies should be made so that health care benefits can be provided to all.
