Predicting noncompliance with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act
Article Abstract:
Researchers attempted to find the relationship between a company's characteristics and the likelihood that it will commit violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). FCPA violation is defined as being involved in sensitive payments, such as bribes to officials, influence peddling, illegal campaign contributions, and other questionable practices. Company characteristics used were degree of ownership control, size, industry membership, headquarters location, domain of operations, profitability, management compensation modes and leverage.

Business versus personal values: does a double standard exist?
Article Abstract:
Responses from 208 students from a university in Northern California were examined to elucidate the perceived gravity of different unethical and criminal behaviors within the personal and business framework. The results suggested that illicit activities done in business situations were perceived to be more serious compared with deportment in personal situations. The perception of personal and wrongful death in personal contexts and sexual harassment in both the personal and business contexts were more serious for women compared with men.
