Secret societies and organized crime in contemporary China
Article Abstract:
The emergence of criminal secret societies in post-Mao China has closely correlated with criminal subcultures, massive unemployment, impoverishment, economic inequality, relative deprivation, and political corruption that have risen from the reform process.
