Self, race, and species: J. F. Blumenbach's atlas experiment
Article Abstract:
The renowned anthropologist and professor of medicine Johann Friedrich Blumenbach produced a scientific atlas entitled 'Abbildungen Naturhistorischer Gegenstande', and his prominence in European debates about taxonomic categories like 'race' and 'species' might be applied to human beings. His evidence on Atlas as discursive tools, with visual and linguistic portraiture, demonstrates and explains the inability of the category 'race' to function as an epistemological premise for the pursuit of human nature.

Sentiment media: Franziska zu Reventlow and the gender of genre in modernism
Article Abstract:
The evaluation of Franziska zu Reventlow's oeuvre is inspired more by her biography. She proposed a new subgenera called 'sentiment media', this subgenera helps to allow entrance into the literature of modernism for texts, whose reception is scarce and whose authors have struggled to find a balance between their public and private personas, between modernism's literary aesthetic and the lighter side of novelistic entertainment.
