Criticised, shunned ... how did the MBA survive?
Article Abstract:
The recession of the early 1990s prompted a significant reduction in demand for the Masters in Business Administration (MBA) qualification. Business schools responded by forging closer links with their corporate clients. This approach is now showing important long-term benefits. The MBA is now a global product, and business schools are offering courses which are tailored to the demands of individual clients. Partnerships with companies are prompting many innovations, and are playing a valuable role in linking theory with practice.
