Sir Alastair Dunnett

Journalist Alastair Dunnett left school at 15 to join the Commercial Bank of Scotland. He founded a magazine for boys, The Claymore, and this gained him the position of printer, producer and editor of the Aberdeen, Scotland, edition of The Bulletin. He joined the Daily Record in 1937, and edited this newspaper for 10 years after the second world war. He was editor of The Scotsman between 1956 and 1972. He gained great respect for his encouragement of young journalists.

Vincent Hanna
Article Abstract:
Journalist and broadcaster Vincent Hanna began his working life as a lawyer. He specialized in civil rights and industrial injuries cases, but also undertook a small amount of journalistic work. He was taken on as an industrial reporter by the Sunday Times in 1970, and later moved to the BBC to 'Tonight' and 'Newsnight.' He became very closely associated with media coverage of by-elections, and gained a strong reputation for being extremely talented.

Anthony Bevins
Article Abstract:
Journalist Anthony Bevins was born in Liverpool, England, in 1942. He studied at the London School of Economics and worked for the Liverpool Daily Post before becoming a political correspondent in London, England, in 1970.
