Article Abstract:

Actors only really feel alive when they are performing, according to actor Tom Baker. He claims that he performs all the time, and that he is therefore entirely fictional. He recalls that he greatly enjoyed being Dr Who between 1974 and 1982, as everyone adored him. He regards himself as a professional diverter, making people forget the horrors of the world. He believes that he has always wanted to be adored, and attributes this to his childhood experiences.

New kid on the Street

Article Abstract:

Actor Saeed Jaffrey does not feel the need to live in an ostentatious way, even though he has now become very well known. However, he positively welcomes the fact that joining the cast of popular soap opera 'Coronation Street' will mean that he can no longer follow a relatively ordinary lifestyle. He is not yet certain how his character in 'Coronation Street' will develop, but wishes to avoid being a stereotypical Asian shop-keeper.
