Attitudes toward older adults reported by young adults: variation based on attitudinal task and attribute categories
Article Abstract:
Young adults have more negative attitudes toward older adults than toward younger and middle-aged adults, and the pattern of negativity is affected by the type of attitudinal task and attribute category. Negative attitudes toward older adults exist in both, physical and personal-expressive categories in the open-ended task. Negativity is apparent only in the physical category in the rating task. Both open-ended and rating tasks exhibit similar patterns in the cognitive category.

Gait adjustments in older adults: activity and efficacy influences
Article Abstract:
Typically, individuals adjust their gait many times a day to maintain balance, navigate and avoid obstacles. Aging means greater difficulties with gait adjustment, making older people more susceptible to falling. A new study investigates the factors that influence gait adjustment in older adults. It is found that age, balance and physical activity levels are correlated with speed and control of gait.
