Elder care in Korea: the future is now

Article Abstract:

This article examines the relationship between aging, culture, and caregiving in Korea. The author maintains cultural shifts, such as more women entering the workforce, increased family mobility, and declines in fertility, are taking a toll on family caregiving, and argues the Korean government must institute social policies that address the need for long term care services for the elderly.
