Best news yet on the six-factor model of well-being

Article Abstract:

A response is provided to Kristen W. Springer and Robert M. Hauser's claim that the Ryss Scale of Psychological Well-Being does not comprise six dimensions. The methodological corrections employed by Springer and Hauser are examined, finding all to be problematic, either in terms of scientific rationale or method of implementation, or both.

Article Abstract:

Studies show that the belief in one's control over the future provides a means of comprehending one's previous failures, instead of a model that relies on evaluative judgments. Reasons include that recollection of negative outcomes generates strong emotional responses that affect an individual's decisions more extensively than reasoning.
