Critical success factors for business reengineering and corporate performance: the case of Korean corporations
Article Abstract:
A positive relationship exists between corporate performance and critical success factors (CSFs) for business reengineering. A survey of 162 Korean firms revealed that adoption of CSFs has resulted to improvement in corporate performance. Of the 4 CSF categories evaluated, Korean team leaders and chief executive officers rated strategic and methodological CSFs as highly significant while organizational and technological/educational CSFs were rated as less significant.

The emerging importance of knowledge for development: implications for technology policy and innovation

Knowledge plays a vital role towards attainment of true economic development. Transformation of laborforce from manufacturing to services, growth in the stock of intangible assets and the rise in total factor productivity are some of the evidences that emphasize the increasing role of knowledge in economic growth. In terms of education, the importance of knowledge is again emphasize as evidenced by a low rate of unemployment among people with university degree.

A method was created to enable small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) resolve their problems related to establishment and acquisition of new knowledge and skills. The method specifically aims to determine the knowledge and skills an SME needs to take advantage its market opportunities. It offers a faster but effective strategic analysis to identify and resolve gaps that would lead to enhancement of competitiveness.
