Fuelwood consumption and deforestation in the Philippines
Article Abstract:
The assertion that high residential fuelwood consumption in Ilocos Norte, Philippines, will contribute to local and regional deforestation is incorrect. The prediction is not supported by evidence of deforestation in the country and does not consider that high demand for fuelwood promotes tree planting, reforestation and agroforestry. It also failed to consider existing literature affirming that fuelwood cutting does not contribute to deforestation.

Fuelwood consumption and deforestation in the Philippines: a rejoinder
Article Abstract:
Fuelwood consumption is a major contributing factor to deforestation in the Philippines since the country is already experiencing high demand for land and population growth. Fuelwood cutting's effect on deforestation is also enhanced due to the practice of illegal logging, swidden cultivation and charcoal making in the country. Minor construction and other sociocultural factors also contribute to deforestation.

The effects of appetitive stimuli on out-of domain consumption impatience
Article Abstract:
Appetitive stimuli can lead to changes in temporal orientation and affect consumption impatience. Consumers exposed to appetitive stimuli are present oriented, more likely to choose smaller and sooner rewards, and more likely to make unplanned purchases.
