How working is defined: structure and stability
Article Abstract:
A proposed ordered structure of work definitional statements is comprised of four categories: burden/control, constraint, responsibility and exchange, and social contribution. A study showed that definitions by labor forces in 11 different countries ranges from burden/control to social contribution. Those who define working in terms of burden/control and/or constraint highlight costs to the individual while those who define working in terms of responsibility and exchange underscore the reciprocal exchange relations between the individual and organization/society. Those who define working in terms of social contribution stress social benefits of working.

The influence of career stage on the work attitudes of male and female accounting professionals
Article Abstract:
Accounting professionals at various career stages were surveyed about their work commitment, job satisfaction, instrinsic and extrinsic rewards satisfactions, and organizational and professional turnover intentions. Careers stages were measured by professional tenure. Results showed that tenure influenced the work commitment, job satisfaction and turnover intentions of male accountants while no difference in work attitudes were observed for women in various career stages.

Intraorganizational mobility and work related attitudes
Article Abstract:
A study was made on the possible effects of intraorganizational mobility experiences on a variety of job attitudes and perceptions. The findings suggested an association between having one's internal mobility expectations met and more favorable work-related attitudes. Furthermore, employees who were denied opportunities for advancement for 'fair' reasons showed more favorable work-related attitudes than those who were denied for reasons perceived as 'unfair.'
