Muslim reconstructions of knowledge and the re-enchantment of modernity
Article Abstract:
The Muslim debate on the reconstruction of knowledge that is incorrectly but popularly known as the Islamization of knowledge, in which Muslim thinkers for more than 25 years are active, is discussed. The literature on the reconstruction of knowledge is found to respond to the increasing awareness of modernity as a worldview that marginalizes religiously inspired ones by depriving knowledge of its teleological and sacred qualities.
