Education, enterprise organization, and productivity in the Chinese paper industry
Article Abstract:
Business ownership and employee education affect productivity in China's paper industry. Business enterprises owned by provinces were found to produce about 23% less than municipality-owned and collectively-owned ones. This implies that workers become more efficient when they perceive profits to redound to their own benefit. It was also discovered that the employment of more educated workers has a very high social rate of return.

Educational attainment and earnings determination in Colombia
Article Abstract:
The rate of return to education in Colombia is estimated to have fallen to 10% in 1979. Analysis show, however, that some bias to estimating the returns has contributed to the resulting low rates. Allowing for worker heterogeneity and self-selection in the education process has increased the estimated returns to education. Specifically, those who pursued more schooling have higher rates of return to education.
